Text Box: If you, or someone you know, is in a position to give some time to your community, we invite you to become a mentor to a young mother.
The E-Bay Foundation, in memory of our dear friend and member, Wanda Allred, has selected our state association to receive a grant to fund this project. These valuable funds will provide mentor training manuals and supplies to help young mothers learn basic skills of homemaking and parenting.
As a mentor, the commitment would be:
Consent to having an FBI and BCI background check and pass them.
Attend a 1 1/2 hour training course by our own 2005 Mother of the Year, Jeanne Godfrey who is professionally qualified.
Teach 5 lessons in basic skills of homemaking and parenting Text Box: to a young mother, referred to us by a family agency or church leader.
Attend a "graduation" celebration at the conclusion of each quarterly session.
Be a paid member of AMI.

This can be a one time commitment or an ongoing service, depending on future funding and your desires.
This project, also a national AMI program, supports the purpose in strengthening homes and families. By encouraging cleanliness, orderliness, budgeting, good nutrition, meal planning and parenting skills, greater problems will be prevented and families can gain confidence in their aspirations.
We know there are many, many fabulous potential mentors throughout our State! To register or ask questions, please contact Wendy McKenna:
